Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the main therapy that we offer.

CBT is a modern research based treatment for Excessive Worrying, Anxiety, Panic, Phobia, Depression, Trauma, Obesssional Behaviour, Weight Reduction, and many other problems that involve your feelings, thoughts, or behaviours.

The use of CBT is continually being extended and adapted such that it can now be used to treat conditions such as: Insomnia, Compulsive Shopping, Substance Addictions, Relationship Problems, excessive Anger, Sexual Behaviour Disorders, Problem Drinking, Eating Disorders, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Health Anxiety, and Complicated Grieving.The principles of CBT have also be applied to improving performance in sports, and in the workplace. The treatment is generally given in a one-to-one situation with a therapist, or coach. For some problems group treatment can also be given. Treatment usually takes from 6 to 18 sessions.

The success rate of CBT has always been much better than for other forms of therapy. Further improvements in the therapeutic methods used have now made CBT the treatment of choice. It has been accepted by the NHS as being the most effective treatment for most mental health conditions, and is used by numerous other clinics and hospitals around the world, as well as being evidenced as effective by many academic studies. The UK government's National Institiute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) has validated CBT as the treatment of choice for general anxiety (GAD), depression, obsessional disorders (OCD), and trauma (PTSD)
